A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) specializing in retail stocks, Chuck Grom earned his bachelor’s from Holy Cross College in 1996. After working as an auditor for three years at Arthur Andersen LLP, Chuck Grom accepted an equity research associate position at Salomon Smith Barney, where he assisted in covering large-cap homebuilding stocks by preparing research reports and call notes.
In 2002, after achieving his CFA, Chuck Grom began working as a senior analyst with J.P. Morgan. Initially covering smaller retail stocks such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and PetSmart, he later transitioned into the role of lead department store analyst, in which he was responsible for covering large-scale department and grocery store stocks such as JCPenney, Nordstrom, and Whole Foods. He guided successful IPOs for Vitamin Shoppe and GNC, among others, and his expertise landed him guest appearance spots providing market commentary on CNBC and CNN. He was promoted to Managing Director in 2010 and has since assumed similar roles with Deutsche Bank and CRT Sterne Agee, where he helped create an associate development training program.
Currently serving as managing director for Gordon Haskett Research Advisors, Chuck Grom is an avid sports fan who follows the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets, and New York Yankees. He also enjoys playing golf, running, surfing, and is a Board member of a local lacrosse program in his hometown of Chatham, New Jersey where he coaches several youth teams.
